Hello again readers, The topic of the blog has finally been decided. The posts following this one will be related to my research on how the positive portrayal of vaping, in media, affects the public opinion of it. This issue came to my attention through conversing with my peers at college. The purpose of the electrical cigeratte was to provide a healthier outlet, in comparison to smoking tobacco, that can possibly aid in the process of quitting smoking. As vaping grew in popularity, it took the attention of young adults including teens that never smoked. Even though there is a grey area on the health effects of vaping, smoking anything recreationally can't be benefical. My curosity for this topic was sparked when one of my friends bought a vape, who has never smoked previously. Opon futher inspection I found that there is a whole culture behind the vape scene.
Currently, the general consensus of vaping is that it is healthier then smoking, but no one really talks about the negative effects that occur after continous use of vapes or e-cigerattes. As I go into the depths on vaping and its culture I hope to come to a conclusion on whether or not vaping is safe for recreational use. Vaping is contuning to grow in popularity so the sooner an understanding on the effects of vaping. This research is relevant to teens, parents of teens and vapers. At this moment in time my knowledge is very limited. I do believe any form of smoking is bad atleast in the case lungs, but I will report both sides of the argument so that all information is covered and to keep from being misleading.
