Hello again readers, last post I went over the both sides of vaping with some focus on what vaping actually is. This post will focus on one side, the vaping enthusiast. Previously, I have mentioned that there is a whole culture that is developing around the e-cigarette product, but what does that infer? To define vape culture in a sentece: Vape culture relates to the entrepreneurs, hobbyists, and evangelists that are focused on e-cigarettes. Vape culture also includes the conventions and music.
Vapefest, a convention for e-cigarette users, is held every year in Las Vegas. One thing to note about the users that attend these convention is that the arent using the e-cigratteres that are advertised in the media like Blu e-cigerattes, but instead most vapers at these conventions uses personal rigs. The reason for this is due to the non reusability of the marketed e-cigarettes. Any e-cigarette or rig contains a battery, atomizer, tank, and e-liquid, however, with the individual e-cigarettes they are often disposable and not refillable. For the avid vape user, this is a waste of money. For this reason a rigs were developed for personal use. Some of these rigs can cost upwards of a few hundred dollars. At vapefest many of the rigs available for purchase are for sale by entreprenuers and not big companies. With all this being said one question may remain. Why are there so many vapers, and why are they so passionate? When asked, most people at vapefest say they started vaping because they wanted a healthier alternative to smoking, but continue to vape and spread the word because they aim to end the tobacco industry by converting the smokers to vapers. Aaron David Ross, better known as ADR, is musician and vaper. Alongside his friends Ross has develpoped music specifically for vapers. His new mixtape is Cloud Chasing vol 1. Ross believes that vaping can end the tobacco industry, and has taken it apon himself to become somewhat of an vaping evangelist through his music. His ideas may not be to farfetched. Last year the e-cigarette industry
made over 1.5 billion dollars in profit.
